Short description of the game:
The player controls a small creature as it navigates a maze filled with obstacles. To complete the maze, the player must move from platform to platform by flipping the character's gravity to reach new areas.
How we interpreted the theme:
"Changing the view" - By adopting a "perspective" understanding of "view," we enable the player to flip their character, and by extension, the perspective, to navigate the platformer maze.
Development Process:
The team was quite international, working within three separate time zones. We met through Discord voice calls, and communicated through the designated Discord channel and our server. We shared workload and tasks regularly to ensure the entire team stayed updated on the game's progress. Trello and designated discord channels were helpful tools to keep the team on track.
Controls
- The ball moves with WASD
- Camera can be turned using Shift and Space (left and right) or by using the mouse
- Left click to look up/down
- Right click to switch the gravity up/down
- Press R to go back to the last checkpoint
- Press Enter to skip to the next checkpoint (CHEAT)
Tips
- You can find checkpoints (two candles) by looking for smoke in the air
- You can move in the air, but not after switching the gravity
- Use left click to look up before switching the gravity
- You can only climb <45 degree slopes and the gravity switch sound will play when trying to climb too steep hills
- There is a way to climb over high obstacles by falling up
